Q&A

What is the ratio of powdered milk to hot chocolate mix to simulate chocolate milk?

I have mixed powdered milk and hot chocolate in a Nalgene before to celebrate climbing mountains/rock climbs but it has been a while and I don't remember how much of each it takes (I think it was around half of each).

What would the ratio of powdered milk to hot chocolate before for powdered chocolate milk?

It depends on the brand you have at hand. Using regular chocolate and milk, any ratio from 8:1 to 2:1 (the larger numbers refer to the liquid you use) is reasonable depending on how sweet and thick you want your hot chocolate. (And to what degree you want to taste the milk or the chocolate respectively.)

With ready-to-use products, you should also check additional ingredients as these may influence your decision on how much powder you want to use. Some brands have a lot of extra sugar while others have less.
