Q&A What's this dish from a Hong Kong restaurant, with sesame seeds and shredded carrots?

Can you please ID this dish? It's from Shang Palace in H.K.. I see sesame seeds and carrot slices. But I can't figure out the other ingredients. Thanks.

  • Why cook scallops in a clay pot (煲仔)?
  • What's this dish from a Cantonese restaurant in Hong Kong, with carrots and sesame seeds?
  • I chanced this clay pot (煲仔) on Summer Palace's [Tripadvisor page](https://www.tripadvisor.ca/Restaurant_Review-g294217-d1895824-Reviews-Summer_Palace-Hong_Kong.html#photos;aggregationId=101&albumid=101&filter=7&ff=307995703), a Cantonese cuisine restaurant in Hong Kong.
  • 1. I see cellophane or glass noodles, and spring onions. Or are those scallions?
  • 2. How are the scallops cooked? Would the restaurant just put all the raw ingredients in the clay pot, then put the clay pot over the stove?
  • 3. But why use the clay pot (煲仔)? Isn't this the same as steaming scallops in a pan?

How were the scallops cooked? Would the restaurant just put all the raw ingredients in the clay pot, then put the clay pot over the stove?

But why use the clay pot (煲仔)? Isn't this the same as steaming scallops in a pan?
